Following on from the previous Coffee Talk video, in which I talked about the return on AI, I wanted to explore the question of whether that return might come from killing off spending on packaged software or the expensive consultants that customise it.

The bottom line is that I don’t think it will kill either one, although it will undoubtedly change both markets. AI needs data, and the data lives in the existing software. And consultants are needed to connect everything up, and do so in a way that won’t get anyone in trouble.
