The Day Star, trying to burrrn ussss

I realise my fellow fair-skinned people have been and still are responsible for all manner of Bad Stuff around the world, but this does not make it any less irritating when some more melanin-graced person exclaims “wow, you caught the sun today!”

A) I am well aware of the fact, I can feel the burn on my skin, and have indeed been dousing myself in aloe vera and similar products

B) I was out in the sun either doing something sufficiently fun that the risk of sunburn was worth it, or (sadly more probably these days) as part of some unavoidable activity, probably child-related

Either way, unless you are offering to massage more aloe vera into the affected area, you are Not Helping right now, and in fact I would very much like you to shut up and go away right now.
